View Full Version : 4.3 stroker?
I remember a while backseeing a stroker kit for the 96 and up 4.3 that made just over 300 horse. Does anyone know where to find a stroker kit for the 96 and up 4.3?

i like that one.. "take it out and get it stroked"
an anthem if i've ever heard one.
being a newbie in the building of engines world, are these prices pretty good, and can this be used with a s/c? (with the new manifold of course, otherwise it'd be all for nothing)

If your going to stroke get the strokerkits.com one. The other kits just take a stock crank and machine it to 3.55" That makes it far to weak and besides, the forged aftermarket ones give more stroke anyways.
As far as price your have to call but $1000 is about what I'd pay for one.

I'm doing a stroker in mine! I'm using the 2000dollar rpm billet crank tho.

^^^ The best of the best there!
Sweet. Speedomotive was the one I was looking for. I didnt look to hard on their site but I think that was the one that had the kit that boosted the hp rating to 300 hp if Im not mistaken.

Don't, the Speedmotive one is cast and weak and small. They also did other things to get to 300hp, don't think stroking will get you there alone.
Ohh Id love to hit 300. Im a lil skeptical with the speedomotive kit. I would like to hit 300 but am tinking more of 250 naturally aspirated horse and maybe get an s/c later down the road (a roots style). What is the best way to hit 250 hp.

that link that obi put up by speedo i love that motor...i think its awesome but like you i'm skeptical...they don't give you any kind of assurance. its like here you go...it we fcked up...oh well. is there any reason why you couldn't s/c a motor thats been stroked? could easily get a 370hp s-10...i had to tone it down cause 320hp @ 6000rpms...lol...can't be good...

TBI??? Ya right, carb is the easiest way. But it so hillbilly, and mpfi is so much cooler and more $$$
I know my (current)setup will hit alteast 230rwhp, if it ever runs that is  :D :jump_125: :xmas_125: :hot_125:

Stroker would be good.... 350 would be better.... but I dynoed 232 RWHP with a 75 shot of nitrous. This was before my headers, AEM Brute Force intake and resonator removal.

if you go to sporttruck.com and search for 3/4 350 you'll pull up an article where the guys built a 4.3 without stroking and pulled over 300hp and 316lb ft tq. They state that for all parts and machine work the bill is right around $3000. They also state that their buildup will handle nitrus or even a blower. If the rest of my truck was in better shape I'd rebuild the motor this way tommorow.
Im not to big on nitrous. I wanna s/c but I dont think ill have the money to ever buy one any time soon. I know a guy thatll rebuild a motor and stroke it or do whatever I want to it for a couple hundred so I could just have him do it for me and Ill apprentice to the engine build.

You won't get a stroker worth a damn if it's done for a few hundred dollars. The crank will not last.

Yup. It'll just be an offset ground stock crank that'll add like 8-10 cubic inches and weaken an already (theoretically) weak link.
