i have been reading around since my motor mount.... broke.

i have been trying to decided which way i want to go. i looked over the bajacustom mounts. will they work on a zr2 4x4? it says 2wd on there site, just not sure if anyone had tried them or if they can work. (also are they still even making them. looks like they might have stopped.)

also looked at the summit raging poly mounts.

any other suggjestions.

keep in mind this is my daily. i dont mind a little engine feedback, but i dont want my teeth to vibrate when i am sitting at a stop light. i also dont want them to break. and if they keep the motor from rocking too much that would be a plus.

thanks guys!

I think the 2WD and 4WD mounts are different. If I had it to do over I'd probably choose something a bit tamer than the BC mounts for a daily. They're not intolerable but they definitely let you know the engine is there.

I think Scott recommended to me the ones that Jagsthatrun.com offer. IIRC he said the they're not a stiff as the BC ones.

idk if they'll work on a 4wd though.

Baja are for 2wd only.

I have polys with Boosted thrills pads on my Blazer and the bajas on my Jimmy. At idle I think they poly's vibrate just as bad. BUT, that's because the idle has been bumped up just a tad in the Jimmy. So since you have tuner software and can change sh!t. I think you'll be happy with polys. If you were stock I would say see if jtr had some of that will fit a 4wd since they are rubber and will feel like stock. JTR make frame pad so you can use the old style GM calm shell looking mounts. Those will ware out but won't let you engine collide with you hood and fan with you fan shroud.

My mount is broke too. By broke I mean that the rubber has pulled away from either the motor side or the frame side of the mount. When in gear, leaving a stoplight I was able to hear the fan eat the shroud. Also could feel the motor set back down when the throttle was released. That to me is a broken motor mount. As far as I know that's about the only way to have a broken mount. Jus chain down the drivers side of the motor using the lift point on the motor ( I.e. the loop by the power steering fill.) Down to the bracket that goes from the frame to the end of the bumper. The bolt I used is just forward of the driver tire on the frame. Need pics? Thought so! Lol! Pic whores! Lol! Ill get a few in a moment.

Maybe you can use stock mounts and buy or fab up something like this...http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CEE-4034/

Dont chain it go to www.energysuspensionparts.com they have a motor and trans mount to die for and around 35 bucks for the motor mount they say it only fits 2wd models but there web sites wrong i spent lots of time talking with there asosiates and they fit both 2wd and 4wd 96-01 blazers-jimmys-sonomas and pick-ups i promise. O yea always get the black bushings from this company cause they are grafite injected (self-lubricating) the red ones are'nt and for the same price u cant beat it.
FYI they do have for different trans mounts with the same part# so make sure u pick the right one.

This is the engine mount: Its $35.99 (Part#:3.1144)

This is the trans mount: Its $48.50 (Part#: 3.1129)

Energy suspension making mounts for our trucks. I had no clue about them.

I posted a thread about them awhile back. There was some negative opinions on them. IDK though. I do know my bajacustom mounts will kick there ass. I also know that for a stock daily, a good rubber mount that won't come unglued is perfect. JTR has just a thing....http://www.jagsthatrun.com/Pages/Parts_S10-43-2wdRepacementMounts.html

I still think that is the way I'm going.

Anybody want to buy a set of Boosteds brackets? NEW never used.

Boosted's and the ES parts fail and sag. Design flaw that boosted couldn't have known about. Poly sucks, especially when there is heat involved. Only good for body mounts IMO. Has cold flow properties and heat just adds to the problem.

Think i'll just have mine machined out of blocks of sa106.

I haven't had any problems with the poly mounts on my 60 degree but the headers are routed to the back and away from the mounts. Another 60 degree design plus moving the cyl banks closer together.

i just joined, so i imagine i'm a lil' late on this issue. but if you're going for poly mounts...i know stock replacements cost 28 bucks at autozone, well the poly mounts from streetsideauto.com are 32 bucks apiece...pretty damn good price...just thought i'd throw that out there for anyone interested in those things...
