found a bed, exterior is in good shape. the inside was filled with 3 foot of snow so next weekend im going up there with a shovel to clear it out and then see how much hes asking for it.
while i was there i also found a headliner, fender w/o innerwheel well, and for some reason i could not find a glove box door or a center console lol
and i got a question would the 2nd gen center console bolt up where mine is or would i have to drill holes? i dont really want to drill.
and is it a bad idea to undercoat the bottom of the bed before its installed and put spray in bed liner on the inside? i figured it would protect it from rusting and then obviously paint the exterior
what ya tihnk?

Not too sure about the console, its been switched before I would assume you would have to drill holes, could be wrong, maybe another member can assist you with that question.
Definatly a good idea to undercoat the bottom before you install it, Just make sure you give it time to cure and try not to cover up the holes for the bed bolts. and a better idea for spray in bed liner. - Stay away from the cheap "Bed Coat" **** at pepboys and autozone. If you want to do it yourself go ahead and get Hurculiner. Its worth it for what you pay and it looks good if you do it right other wise id recommend Line-X its pretty cheap down here for a professional spray in. im sure the prices your way arent too different

i wanna get a 2nd vehicle so i can fix this one up, because if it has a decent body then i would have more motivation to rebuild the motor, lol

The cross rails (from the inside out) and rear channel, especially above bed bolt plates, will rust out on an otherwise under coated bed. If you can't treat these areas, unercoating elsewhere will be a waste of time and money. I have a bed just like that!

Your rear most bed bolts go into them. The plates sit flat on top of the ends of the frame rail. You need to treat the area on the top side especially where they meet the rear panel.
The next problematic area is between the bed floor and the rear channel, especially at the outer ends.
Trust me, I'm in the rust belt. I know where they rot.

If your S10 is on the road, haul it home with that. Turn the bed upside down, rail to rail with yours. Bring padding to protect yours (if that's important) like firm white roll foam and cut into strips as wide as the bed rails, or use roofing rubber cut likewise. Bring several clamps, perhaps six to eigth, preferably those aluminum camper cap topper clamps. Tape the protective material on your bed rails. Turn the bed you are buying upside down. Stack two tires per side on front bed rail and roll up and over so as not to collapse the front of the bed sides. Get several people (or the yard loader) to help lift bed onto truck. Clamp it down. Bring it home.
