"These fairy tales always surface when gas prices go up!"

"Isn't that the truth. What a bunch of Poo Poo."

Like someone mentioned over there, be afraid, very afraid of gaskets and sealants getting eaten up. Only Ford people whould do such things!

Acetone is so volatile it will evaporate before it does any good. Toluene, cyclohexane, acetone or ant thing else like that is a lot more expensive than gas, so whats the point.

Ive used acetone, toluene, and xylene "not together" before as a quik octane boost.Last car I used it in was my last Z28.When I would race around town and at the track with more timing advance on hot days I used it.With out it I got pinging and detonation. With it I didn't have any problems and my times improved noticeabley.Ive not used any in my TA yet but will try it if I have any problem at the track this year. Will it improve gas mileage I have no clue ive only used it when racing. But it will stop pinging.I added 1.5oz to five gallons of 93 octane. At the track it's easier to just by race gas.But again I have never tried it to improve mileage.

there is already Toluene, cyclohexane, acetone, naptha, raffinate, mtbe, styrene,in your gas. what is not in you gas is finger nail polish remover. that is differnt blend of acetone.

the key word here is BLEND. You can't just dump it in your tank and exspect it to work, but if you have allready done it, it woun't hurt anything.

damn, so I cant run paint thinner when I start running low on gas?!

We have huge barrels of pure methyl alcohol at work to make washer fluid.....hmmmm....

Race gas is far cheaper. I put a lil' shot of 110 octane in with some 93 pump gas when I'm running a 100 shot on hot days with no timing retard.

I always try to buy race gas at the track but I have used those chemicals to boost octane. No not fingernail polish remover but pure acetone, xylene, and toluene"toluene more than the other two".I don't know how much gas has of those chemicals already in them. All I know is with the right mixture it DOES eliminate detonation and pinging as a decent octane booster.I would not use it all the time at all but it has its advantages and disadvantages. This really isn't a new thing by any means.Just ask some of the old timers around thats used them.
