engine swap info pls =)

I am contemplating replacing the motor in my 97 S10, I currently have a Vin X motor with 114K on it and it has a knock. I want to replace it with a 2000 Vin W that I found. Vin X's seem to be very difficult to locate. I was told the only difference between the 2 motors was the cam. I was also told my ECU will hook right up and everything will bolt up (sensors Etc.)
Does anyone have some inupt on this? All my info was from people who have never done this.

as far as I know the only difference is the vin x's have 5 more ft/lbs of torque

You will also need to reflash the ECM as well to reflect the cam diff on the fuel curves
