View Full Version : Upgrading My amp
So I am thinking of upgrading the amp in my S 10. I am looking prettty seriously at the MTX 311D. I would like a digital amp. I work for an authorized MTX dealer, so I can get it for a pretty deep discount. Anyone care to share any horror stories with the d class amps? I have an 801D in my suburban, and love it to death. Let me know what yall think, and if I should pay more to get another brand (I will not buy RF amps) for better quality. I have never run anything but MTX and been 100% Satisfied with their quality, service and prices. Basically I am wanting some affermation before I buy, what do you guys think?

MTX makes good stuff -- not fantastic, but definitely good. I've got an MTX amp and 2 MTX 12s in my Cavalier and I like them.
Of course, if you want the best, go with Kicker. But, there are tons of amp companies out there that make great amps. Pioneer, Kicker, Audiobahn, Autotek, PPI, Alpine, etc.
What do you listen to, what speakers are you going to run the amp to, and what sound are you looking for?
so who makes "fantastic" stuff.

I'm not personally a MTX fan but they are pretty good from what I have seen of them but I really like Soundstream myself.
