Im pretty sure it would have to be a 93 to 97 to work on a S10.Sounds like you have some big plans for it too.Nothing like slamming through 6 gears to get ya pumped up lol.Oh and as to a clutch I say for the money and quality CF dual friction.I love them and they HOLD.Post pics as the install comes along.

Its from a 96 lt1 z28 w/ 60k. But the synchros are burnt up, ie all the goodies. I'm hoping the synchros arent dead and just needa rebuild. But if so then so be it, new synchros are 200bucks from:

the 40t reluctor is for the speedo!

The T56 is one very stout tranny that can take a good deal of punishment. But to many people shift them WAY to hard, which will always lead to problems eventually. To me the best thing about the tranny is being able to run a lower gear and not really sacrifice top end crusing speeds or gas mileage very much.Hell with the gears in mine I can take off in 3rd easily lol.Just out of curiosity what did you pay for the tranny.

Not a bad price at all.Have you got a clutch in mind that you were gonna use.I do highly recommend the centerforce dual friction. For the price and performance they are a best bang for the dollar. There are other cluthes out there that will provide more holding power under big horsepower but not at the price of the centerforce. And D&D performance is one of if not the best manual tranny company when it comes to the T5/T56/Tremec 500/600.The Fbody and Mustang crowd go to them when they need their tranny to take abuse from VERY large horsepower.I would love to have one of their built T56's for my TA.Your engine will go before their tranny would. For 2 grand you get a tranny that will hold up to 500 lb-ft of torque all day long.Add a grand to that and you got one to with stand 650 lb-ft.But first I nned a engine to put out that kinda torque lol.Anyway keep us posted on how it turns out.

I actually got a deal on a SPEC Stage 3 setup!! It's good to 680lb ft tq. Also I found this on ebay:
Aluminum LT1 flywheel (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7966289849&category=33732&sspagename=WDVW)
AND I already got these to compliment the t56 :D
Shifter knob (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=7967230294&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT)
Pro 5.0 shifter (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=7967030351&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT)

You are getting all the right parts for a great build.A really nice light flywheel will really help you spin those rpm's up.And that's the exact same place I bought my shifter knob. They are pretty good to deal with and ship pretty fast.I got the white one.I think they look slick as hell.Got that old school pure muscle look to them. And that shifter is pretty bad ass too.I got my chrome Hurst Billet Plus shifter off Ebay for 125 shipped. It's a nice shifter that you can just hammer the hell out of all day long. The shifter you are getting is just as good if not better in some peoples opinions.

Ya theres ALOT of people using the pro 5-0. The main reason I got it is my uncles got it in his 00 SS and I just love it! I can't wait to bang 6 gears in mine (well not really 6 :D).
A friend on another forum recomended I stay away from the alum flywheel. Since mines going to be a turbo application the steel one will help hold the rpms. Either way the lt1 flywheel is almost 40lbs lighter than the stock 4.3L !!!

Don't know about the turbo thing but they really help N/A engines spin up RPM's quik.

something made me brought up the T56 tranny swap so i looked it up and saw this, i was just curious if the T56 swapped fairly easy into the 4.3, but it sounds like its quite a handful?
