when I used to shut my truck off, it does this horrible shudder. it feels like the whole powertrain is going to rattle off the truck. I'm sure when I get back to it after a year of storage, it's only going to get worse. Whats up with it?

usually caused by excess fuel being burned when you shut it off.

not bad for the truck, kinda common. i think it is something with the buttefly plate not closing fully before its shut off or something like that. ill let the pros chime in here! lol

dieseling is not as common on the fuel injected engines because the fuel supply is shut off. Usually it is caused by carbon deposits in the combustion chamber that have hot spots and when the car is turned off the hot spots act as a spark plug and ignites the fuel so the engine keeps running. This used to be a big problem with carbs because they used the engine vacume to draw fuel into the engine. You might want to run some seafoam thru the engine to help get rid of the carbon build ups
