Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8-The Grand Cherokee SRT8 unveiled in New York signifies several firsts for DaimlerChrysler. It is the first Jeep-branded vehicle with an SRT badge as well as the first four-wheel-drive vehicle from SRT. It is also the first Jeep capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in under five seconds, making it quicker than the Porsche Cayenne Turbo. Trail Rated has suddenly become Track Rated. To hit 60 in the 4s requires serious power, and the Grand Cherokee SRT8 has plenty of it—415 horses and 410 pound-feet or torque, courtesy of a 6.1-liter Hemi. Engine breathing is increased with new higher-flow cylinder heads, a specially designed intake manifold, a fresh-air induction system, and exhaust headers with individual tubes encased in a stainless steel shell. The exhaust is routed through a large-diameter 2.75-inch exhaust system with four-inch chrome tips. Power from the 6.1 is sent through a special torque converter to an SRT-upgraded A580 five-speed automatic transmission, with torque going to front and rear differentials via a specially designed transfer case. SRT engineers made extensive changes to the chassis, including SRT-tuned dampers, unique anti-roll bars, specially tailored spring rates and suspension bushings, new front suspension knuckles, and a one-inch lower ride height. Bigger wheels and tires—forged 20-inch five-spoke aluminum alloys shod with high-performance Goodyear W-rated 255/45R-20 fronts and 285/40R-20 rears—provide high handling and braking levels, the latter accomplished with help from four-piston Brembo brake calipers clamping down on 14.2-inch vented front rotors and 13.8-inch vented rear rotors. The interior gets the full SRT treatment as well, featuring power-adjustable, deeply sculpted performance seats with suede inserts; a carbon-fiber technical finish on the leather-wrapped steering wheel, instrument panel, and shift knob; aluminum finish on the center stack, shifter, and door-switch bezels; and a tachometer, temperature gauge, and a 180-mph speedometer all trimmed with a unique blue accent and located within a carbon fiber-trimmed binnacle. Available options will include a DVD-based navigation system, Sirius satellite radio, and a UConnect hands-free communication system with Bluetooth technology. The Grand Cherokee SRT8 will be assembled at DaimlerChrysler’s Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit, Mich, and will be available in silver, black, and red.

That front part should be chrome or body colored and not black plastic. The suspention's too high, and those wheels are more for a sports car then a sport SUV. Another Hemi, doesn't Mopar have anything else that can make power? At least the Crossfire SRT6 has something different.

With 415hp/410tq why would they want to put anything else in it.Thats more power than the C6's LS2 comes with. And the ride heaight still makes it a semi usefull SUV.One that can haul ass just as much as groceries lol.
