Engine Driven Compressor install progress

I got an engine driven compressor kit for my pickup truck and started putting it on tonight. It's a tight fit under the hood of the little truck and all the other bull**** in there. The kit is the one from AirLift. It's advertised as a 4 hour bolt on application but in my truck... yaaahh right. So here is how it's coming after today. I also have a PowerMaster 200 amp alternator with a larger fan assembly. The brackets that came with it caused some clearance problems. So far so good...

"Bolt-on my ass!!!" Part 2:

Well the PowerMaster alternator caused more clearance issues today. The straight bracket they include to go from one of the A/C bolts to the compressor for support just didn't fit. It wouldn't go down far enough at all with the larger alternator. So once again I had to do work to this setup that did not have anything to do with bolts.

Here you can see where it's s'posed to mount up to. Unfortunately the alternator prevents it from going down far enough.

So what do we do when we need something to go down farther but something else is in the way??? NOTCH IT!!

SO there you have it. I am going to clean it up and repaint it after it cools and I eat some lunch. Maybe another update later tonight.

just how I like it!

I think I am going to get a shorter belt. The alternator pulley is slightly off center from the OEM so it maxes out my adjustment without quite getting as tight as I'd like it to be. I haven't engaged the clutch yet so it might be adaquate. Next up is relocating my valves to inside my frame rails (should did it in the first place, DOH!) and running the line back to my tank at the same time. Then it'll be air-licious!! hahaha

yeah, I will loom it all. I will clean the motor sometime too... it's been in storage for almost 5 months.

Well I got it all plumbed in over the weekend. Oiled the ***** up and cranked it with some RPMs... WOW do I love it. It filled my 12 gal tank from 0 - 170 psi in about 5 minutes. Thats from my old compressor that took about 25 mins to get to 150 psi. I didn't notice any draw on the motor from it. I held the rpms to about 3000 and flipped it on and no hesitation at all. I have a few snakes to find though... that will be part of today''s endeavors after work.
