Nissan Sport Concept-Nissan North America will bring a car smaller than the Sentra to its U.S. lineup by mid to late 2006. The new model, which draws a bead on Toyota’s Scion lineup, will be based on the Nissan Sport Concept the company will publicly reveal at the New York auto show. The new model also will draw on the Scion tC sports coupe-like Nissan Azeal concept shown at Detroit in January. Nissan’s Sport Concept hatchback is marked by wide body flares over 20-inch wheels, a rear spoiler and a sloping, angled hood. The concept was shown Thursday night at Nissan’s new design studio in suburban Detroit -- even though the vehicle was created at the automaker’s design studio in Atsugi, Japan. The concept gets wide exposure next week during the New York auto show.

The concept, which has some resemblance to the Nissan Tiida sedan sold in Japan, is based on the automaker’s B-segment platform. Yet Nissan says it was designed to comfortably fit four passengers.

The concept measures 171.3 inches from bumper to bumper. That puts it within a couple of inches of the Scion tC coupe, and 6 inches shorter than the current Sentra. But the concept’s 102.4-inch wheelbase tops the Sentra’s wheelbase by nearly 3 inches.nside, each passenger gets their own seat with large side bolsters, raised center section in the seat bottom and integrated, four-point seatbelts. The stereo system includes a large speaker and subwoofer mounted in the rear parcel shelf.

The Sport Concept is the third that Nissan has shown over the past 18 months offering different looks at injecting some style to its small-car lineup. The earlier concepts were the wagon-like Actic and the sporty Azeal coupe.

Max you better be joking! Everything on that is misplaced and none of the lines match up. That "thing" just yells RICE!I was talking about all the cars and trucks I posted you didn't like any of them.I didn't like all of them just was posting some things that was showed at the 2005 NY auto show. I liked a few of them like the Jeep SRT8 was nice looking and I really liked the SRT8 Charger too.Hell Dodge is the only car maker that even makes a full size RWD V8 car out there now.The Crown Vic don't count it's a pig car lol.But think about it who has one on the market that looks decent and has some real power.GM don't Ford really don't.But Chrysler and Dodge have the 300C,Magnum,and the Charger. The V8 cars GM is gonna be putting out are still damn FWD cars.Yeah it's still cool they are gonna have a healthy V8 but a damn FWD.I love my S10 and my TA but both of them are dead now.So what does GM have to offer me close to them...nothing!!A GTO would be real nice to have but at over 35k it's out of my price range. The Colorado ain't bad but it's no S10.On Chevy's sight build I built a Colorado Sport extended cab with the 3.5, 5 speed, and all the accesories I would want and it was 26,505.Then I went to the Dodge sight and built me a Dakota extended cab with the 4.7 magnum v8,6 speed manual"yes a 6 speed" and with about the same options as the Colorado and it was 24,850.The 4.7 V8 does only have 230 hp to the Colorado's 3.5 with 220.But you get 295 lb-ft of torque out of that 4.7 V8.That with the 6 speed manual and the optional 3.90 gear ratio would make for some very fun burn outs. And get this you can actually tow something heavy with it.I hope GM will start making some better moves because Dodge just keeps looking better to me anymore.

Max your right about all that! The new SS Monte Carlo and Impala need to be RWD. Given the option I'd just get a used F-body insted of the Charger. My S10 is still in great shape and I'll keep it till GM get's their act in gear.

I wanna stay GM loyal like I said but they just don't have anything worth it.They still have not got the whole interior thing fixed.I mean come on GM can't you use something besides cheap ass plastic. The GTO has a really nice interior thanks to Holden only.Who knows maybe in the future they will get it all right. But with numb nuts Lutz I doubt it.They have dropped the zeta program which was one of our last hopes for a nice RWD v8 car.
