I got rear-ended on the freeway last Thursday. Everybody but the person behind me stopped just fine. The bumper and right quarter panel are toast. The tailgate has some damage which puts me at decision time. I have been planning to shave the tailgate of the Blazer sometime in the future. I guess the future is now. Since there will be some painting of the tailgate as a part of the repair, I would save that amount by doing it now. It would only cost a couple of hundred to fill the four holes. Just trying to decide if I can do without the wiper and the hatch release. (The other two holes are for the washer hose and the ramp that the wiper parks on.) Anybody else shave their late-model Blazer tailgate?
for the hatch release just use some thing like a remote start that has a trunk release button and it will also unlock the doors. than you dont have to go inside the truck to open the rear hatch. you'd be surprised how nice it is not haveing to use a key.

Thanks, Blazen but I've already got it covered. There's a button on my keyless entry key fob for the hatch.

Nope, wouldnt buy one with a rear wiper, just cant get over how it deters the look. My 01 I used a Lund Windjammer and Rain-X together and it kept the rear window decently clean!! Lund aint on the 05 YET, but will be!!

I bought my Blazer so late in the model year that I didn't have much chioce on options. I was lucky to get one at all. Now I'm trying to put it the way I want it after the fact.
