Just a question for anyone who has one of these- how tall is it?
I'm brainstorming about putting one underneath the CFM-tech spacer I have now so I can get the benefit of each design (the CFM's smoothed center 'ramp' between the bores, and the ridges in the Powerdyne to speed up the airflow).

I've got about 1.25" of hood clearance right now since I removed the PCV ring and installed the Cadillac TBI stud. I'm debating on doing this, or trying to find a velocity-stack air cleaner base only about 1" taller than mine. Not sure which would yeild a better result.

One inch, but I'd run just the Powerdyne one, but try it, cant hurt with both. But you may find the longer bore has its own deterance!

I'm wondering what the effects of another inch to the intake runner would be. I'd expect it would move the power curve down a bit, make some more torque, might hurt the top end a bit.

Here's the CFM-Tech plate for anyone who hasn't seen it:

I'm just curious what gains the Powerdyne would have over the CFM if I just replace it. I am worried a bit by geometry of fuel lines, throttle and tv cables by stacking both. I'll have to go find longer bolt to try it, though!

From what I could understand, the carbs and TBI units like this extra bore area to create a better mix of fuel air in, which has one plus. Now the Dyne Spacer or even the Crane one adds wedges which is suppose to increase the speed the air passes through at which is turn allows for air to fill the void. This increase is during the exit so the mix part would still be there. Who knows if both would help even more, a larger bore area to mix in with increased exit speed??

Bingo, that's just what I was thinking Obi!
