Some of you may recall my Network Security Key thread. I never got it resolved so I said F it and returned the router. Now that I have a rare few dollars I can spend I want to get a new one. I've been looking on newegg for one but I have no idea what I'm looking at lol. I think my connection is 56 Mbps or whatever, I have no clue. Anybody have any suggestions? I'm looking to spend $40 or less. I've seen some on newegg so I know that's a feasible price. Thanks in advance my friends.

bought this one for my parents and it seems to work well.

i use a similar model. (the big brother of that one)

or anything on this page. just make sure that the number of reviews is more than just 10-20. (like the first 2)

What kind of router were you having trouble with?
Everyone in my tech classes preach about Cisco/Linksys routers and their tight security when they're set up right, and those guys seem to be pretty knowledgeable about computers and stuff.

It was a Belkin I think.

I've got another Belkin in my room but it hasn't been hooked up in ages. I don't know the security key for it either or I'd save my money and hook it up instead.

Isn't there a reset button on the back of the router which will default everything? even the security key?

Hell if I know, I'll have to dig it out and look.

Pretty sure there should be one and then its something stupid like admin for user and password for password to log into your router interface

it should be like a paper clip sized diameter hole

The Cisco/Linksys stuff is what I use. Crazy easy, but pricey.

Thats what I use too. :thumbup_1

Okay, just dug out the router and I'm gonna hook it up later. The router is a Belkin model F6D4230-4 V3 for anyone interested.

Okay, I got the router going. Don't know how I did it but I had to fight with it for a little while.
