Ok... we have spark, fuel pressure at the injector. Injector is getting no signal to fire. Will run as long as you spray starting fluid. NO Frickin clue. My brother says Oil Pressure Sending Unit... Or Oil Pressure Sensor or something. I have no damn clue! The injector is good, just no signal to it to spray. I'm stuck up here guys. HELP!!!!!! lol

they have fuses for the injectors in the main fuse box under the hood? im not real smart with newer vehicles but maybe something to check out.

So you have checked the fuel pressure with a gauge, right?

If there's no signal definately check the fuses and the pick up coil on the distributor.

Ok, fuel pressure is checked with a gauge. 59-60 psi. Checked all the fuses. I'm getting spark at the plugs. Check those with the plug in thing i can't remember the name of. EVERYTHING works except the signal to the injector. And no fuses blown. Is there a relay for the fuel injection somewhere? It's not under the hood that i could find. I switched my computer for my brothers computer also and it made no difference. His works. I'm stumped.

Sounds like the pick up in the dizzy... Just because you have spark don't mean it is telling the injector to fire...

Yup, I reiterate, pick up coil. My 93 CPI lost injector signal due to that part. It tells the ECM to fire the injector. and indeed it DID still spark at the plugs.

This what i need guys? I search for pickup coil and this is what came up. Also a BWD Hall Effect Switch, same part just more expensive.

Ok... So it's the VCM? And the Spark Module...? Basically, what i've figured out is that is the computer and the Ignition module? Oh well, $75 diagnostic fee and $75 for programming the new Comp. Thanks for all your help guys, esp you Jongo. lol

Ok Jongo... got one for ya here. Got a new comp, didn't need the ICM. The damn comps (tried 2 now) are reman and coming with a generic VIN code for a 5.7R motor. My bud at the dealership CAN NOT write over the generic VIN with my VIN number. And it won't allow it to do anything because the Body Control/Theft compter won't recognize that VIN anf it won't program to the other VIN either. Every single thing has been gone through and there is nothing wrong. You can talk scan tool to the comp and read it like perfect but it will not reprogram. Any ideas? Data lines are checked and clean, EVERYTHING has been checked. The dealership is stumped.

Dam bud.... You have me stumped on that one big time..... The thing I don't understand is why is the comp for a 5.7??? It is tryin to fire two more cyls than you have? What does it do. Not start? Or not turn over?
If the dealer is stumped something is wrong...

The VIN is reading as a 5.7R but... when you check the misfire history it reads 6cyls on a 4.3L. It makes NO sense. It comes up with error codes when you try to overwrite my VIN number and then program. It's even got the tech stumped. I'm out of options.

I sent you a PM. Make sure they are trying to flash the whole OS, not just the calibrations too.

The Ecm should not have a any Vin stored, Most newer Ecm's will not program if there is a vin stored in them previously or a generic vin. The software the dealerships will not/can not overwrite this. Not to nark aftermarket refurbished ecms but they are junk IMO. Get the dealer to get the proper ecm and start over. The body control module will have a relearn procedure that should learn to that vin or the correct vin after installed.

Yeah, after all this crap i emailed them and they want me to go to advance and pay extra to have them program it. F***kin scam is all it is. So the tech my bro knows said to just get a boneyard comp and he can program it all day long. $50 in Fort Wayne. I'm back in Kentucky now so it kinda sucks. lol The only prob is i don't have $400 to throw at em for a Delco comp AND $75 an hour labor. They rate taking an ecu out and putting a new one in it's place as a 2 HOUR JOB! 5 bolts if you count the knock sensor cover and unplugging the 4 connectors. These people are insane. Stealership is right. Sorry for the rant.

Just get a black box ECM (Vortec 1998-2001 style, doesn't matter what vehicle cause it's getting wiped anyway) and have a full-reflash...hell I have the factory tune for your truck sitting in my tune folder. I have EFIlive....and it would only be $99 for the license to flash the turd and shipping. Lemme know if your still having trouble...I'm located in Jersey but I have a harness to bench flash these turkeys:D I'm positive you can find an s10 PCM somewhere though...the yard down from me has about 20 trucks lined up...lol!

Well after all this crap, it was a broken wire. Circuit 439 i beleive it was, was open. Traced it and the wire was corroded and broken. Ran a new wire and started right up. That just goes to show ya, NEVER take your stuff to a dealer. Find a good local shop. Took them, 2 hours to find and fix the problem.

I know this is an older thread, but what was that wire for? What pin # was it? I would like to check mine and keep an eye on it, especially with being up in the snow belt and the salt and crap on the roads.
