350 tb on 4.3? [Archive]

hey guys i read somewhere that a 350 tb will fit on my 4.3 and will ad alil hp but i wasnt gona just go willy nilly and buy one. and i figured what better place to ask then the web site with ppl who know these bad boys inside and out and back to front:D so has anyone tried it or done this upgrade

First i suggest posting in the correct section.

4.3, 5.0, and 5.7 all use the same diameter TB so swapping them is pointless. The only differance is the injectors and unless you have some other mods putting more fuel to the engine isn't gonna do much but make the truck get crappier mileage.

We talkin' about the throttle body on a '99? It's pretty much the same from '96 to '04 and was strapped to Vortec 350's.
No gain to be had to go to one off of a 350. Same stuff.
You can clip the half moon restrictor plate, polish up the inside if you want.

There are larger tb's to be had off of an ls motor, but it would have to be modified to work, and once again, no gain.
A N/A 4.3 get's plenty of air to satisfy it's puny injectors.
