how to change fuel injector

Anyone out there ever change a fuel injector on a 96 s10 2.2 motor. I've changed them on other vehicles, but not on this one. It's my brother inlaws truck and the injector is cracked and leaking. I just want to know how much I have to take apart to get the injector out. Any advice ? My chilton book isn't helpfull. Thanks for any help. Jim

Never done it myself... But it's really just a matter of getting the thin edge of some prying-tool under the edge of the "cap", and levering it out. Be sure to bleed-down the system before you remove it, or you'll be sprayed with fuel.

Also: Be sure to properly lube & replace the O-rings, or you'll have a leak... Followed by an eventual engine-fire.

On second thought: Maybe you best just take to a GM truck dealer's service department... And avoid the headache of the whole ordeal.
