Hey Guys ,
A Few Things To Watch Out For... One Of The Main Bolts To Mount The Charger Was Too Long And I Almost Twisted The Darn Thing Off. I Had To Shorten It A Little Bit. Also The Belt Al Recommended Was A 5061080 (k0601080) But Mine Needed A 1/2 Inch Shorter To Work Properly. This May Help You More Than The Others Gerard Because They Say There Is A Little Difference In The U.s. And Canadian Trucks Even Though I Didn't Think There Should Be. Also Check And Double Check Where You Cut Your Rad Hose. The Cut Is Basically Right Above Where Your Charger Sits .(so Maybe Cut It Last.
As Far As The Charger Goes I Am Quite Happy. I Have Gotten A Ton Of Compliments On The Sound And The Pull Is Hard. I Am Having A Hesitation Problem At About 4700 Rpm But I Don't Think It Is S/c Related. I Can Hit 180km/h Easily! And Not Sure How Much Faster On Top End But This Little Baby Rocks. There Is Nothing More Satisfying When Some Body Is Expecting You To Shut Out At 100mph And You Are Just Warming Up !
Hope You Have Good Luck

well Al told me he ordered new better looking intake bonnets for the TBI kits from volant on friday. last e-mail i got from him was monday and he said that they should arrive that day and would ship as soon as they got to him. he hasnt e-mailed me back yet, hopefully he has shipped it. did he give everyone else tracking numbers?

He gave me a tracking number (currently somewhere between Phoenix, AZ and Maryland) and it's scheduled for delivery on next Monday. When I talked to him Monday this week he said he was going to be working on shipping them out all week, he's making sure they are packed good so that nothing gets scratched or broken. Also said he was swamped with orders, but working hard to get them all out as quick as possible.

"I can see you quiver with antici. . . Pation!"

Does anyone recognize that quote?

But, I digress. . . The wait is worth it. My local Firestone keeps *****ing about my tire wear. . . I had a buddy of mine there do an alignment on it (it needed it after all that suspension work) -- I told him that when he "test drove" it to give it a little. He came back, handed me the keys and said "I've driven a lot of cars and trucks before -- but THAT scared me!" Apparently it got a little sideways on him. . .

the reason i had a few problems is because my instruction manual was missing quit a bit of info , al's computer wasn't working properly.
but i guess you already know everything

I believe everyone must cut their radiator hose. Al provides an extension which you put into it to make it fit around the S/C head. This was part of the normal install. Don't know about the other issues he had in his post though.

Also, when I talked to Al Monday, one thing that has been delaying him shipping the S/Cs out is that he lost all his instructions books for the installs. Apparently he's had like 6 HDs fail on him recently. Anyways, he had to recreate the install sheets. I think the first few pages of the install are actually on his website if you want to get a heads up on the first part of the install.

Someone should do a very detailed write up on here about the install.

Thanks man, I'll be watching for it. Do you have a number for the belt that you ended up running?

xtreme canuck
04-30-05, 10:26 PM
the belt i ended up with was a 5061075 (k061075) . the belt i was told to use was just a little too long and slipped within 15 minutes. al may have made changes to the kit but i just thought i would give you a heads up. just check your tension on the original before you install your s/c and then re-check on the new belt after...if it has the same tension then you will be fine.
let me know how you make out

Thanks for the input 94s10. If you are interested, or any body else, I have a cam for sale. The cam is new in the box wraped in plastic. It is the same cam I have. Comp cam .510 lift exh. .500 intake and 270 duration. I think that is the right measurements. If anyone is interested let me know, and I will post pics.
