I've been looking into them also. Any sbc one should work. I'm looking at one with a high flow rate so I can get that radiator relocated to the bed!

I put the belt driven back on when I put the class 3 hitch on. Lost.15 ET. .05 for the 50lb. hitch and .1 for the increased drag.

A/C, towing and electric pump didn't mix well. Imagine that.

are those e-pumps reliable for everday use?

Sparky, do the electric pumps use a free wheeling pulley so the belt is routed the same? How did you hook up the wiring?

Well the truck is slowly turning into a non daily driver somewhat race truck.

Our s10's suck for weight distribution. And you cant really talk till you actually take it to a autocross or roadcourse and experience it the fun way :). I figure I'd gain a couple lbs from the tubing and added coolant but moving the radiator to the rear will really help take some weight off the front end!

I'm pretty sure it was a CSI. It's back on the Monte Carlo so I'll take a look.

As far as street use, I put about 15-20k on it, had it on a race car before that and it's back on a race car now. Whatever you buy, make sure it's rebuildable with easy access to spare parts.

How was it on your truck........how many times did you have to rebuild it...??...was it worth it..?

E-pump + daily driver = BAD. Not reliable enough.

I've considered the idea myself, and am still on the fence, but I'm leaning more towards "no" due to the inherent disadvantages (lower flow rate than stock, overheating problems, reliability, etc.).

There's an O-ring where the motor bolts to the pump. Noticed some corrosion once and replaced it. No biggie.

Went through the Florida summer with it last year. Only prob. I ever had was 90 deg.+ days when I was at 70-75 mph or better it would start to heat up if I was directly behind a large truck. Stick the nose out and it would drop right back down.

Louie, I said I gained a tenth putting it back on ;).

The biggest reason for running it was cooldown between rounds. I like going rounds.

How did you route the belts with it?

Upside down triangle. Crank, A/C compressor and alternator forming the corners. Drilled a new pilot hole for the belt tensioner to properly locate it.

No air pump, manual steering.
