I was wondering has anyone seen this happen, The bracket that hold the powersteering pump and alternator broke at the base/bottom bolt and the two upper bolts where the bracket bolts on to the heads broke.
I have gotten the old bracket off and the broken pieces and now in the process of trying to remove the broken bolts, and locating a new bracket (part # GM 10233233) i've looked on ebay and the web ranges from 50 to 150 in price.

Seen it many times. The casting process whomever GM uses to make their cast aluminum parts sucks major

I was able to find a bracket from a junkyard, 35 bucks, and was able to get the broke off bolts out. you would think there would be a steel or something replacement for the brackets. Gm Discontinued the brackets for the part number stamped and there wasn't an suggested replacement.

That usually happens when you throw a serp belt, it wraps around the crank pulley and yanks @ the p/steering pump , the force will snap those.

Thats what happened huh? if so you better check the tensioner and idler pulleys to make sure everythings lined up when you bolt it back together and turn the key

well i kept the broken one, the bottom bolt location is what broke off, and i'll try to find a machine shop and have them repair it. keep it as a spare.
