what is the best way to bend exaust pipe with out a bender? Shoud I heat it up to bend it or are there other tricks to bending pipe? The reason i can not afford to go to a muffler shop is i am a poor college student
you need a bender are you'll crimp and squash the pipes. This dosn't mean you need a high dollar hydrolic bender. Search around you might find someone with and old manuale bender you can get for nothing.
An exhaust shop shouldn't charge that much to bend pipes. I bring pipes in to the locale exhaust and it cost me 30-50 bux to have them bent
or you can do it the rodders way get some elbows and donuts(scrape pipe) and weld up your pipes. this is the hard way, but you get a better exhaust system.

if i filled the pipes with sand and then heated it up and bended it would the pipe still crimp?
probably. It would take you so long to get the pipe hot though, the metal is gonna transferr the heat to the sand, so you are gonna have to get the sand and the metal up to bending temp, a real ***** if you ask me. Save some money and go to the muffler shop. Have them bend some pipe up, or go to auto zone and buy sections of pipe, then cut and clamp them together. It is ghetto, but it works
