i week ago the bendix on my starter went out. bought a new starter and replaced it, worked fine for about 5 days until i go to start it and nothing. i tried replacing the nuetral safety switch, jumping it with a good battery, and replacing the starter again (it was warrantied).

i have an ingition switch that i bought, and i tore into the dash looking for the stock one and cant find it. maybe i got the wrong switch, does anyone know exactly were it is? any other ideas on what it may be? where is the starter relay? is it on its own fuse?

it push starts and runs fine otherwise.

this truck has aggravated me beyond belief. its been one thing after another and i'm just a thread away from buying the new truck that i was planning on buying after christmas and sticking my dime in the garage for a few months than completely gutting the damn thing and starting from scratch. sucks cause i just bought a supercharger for it. hopefully it wont end up that way cause it would be a few years before it will be running again

corroded terminals anywhere? Broken s-terminal wire?(the small one from ignition to solenoid) if you replaced all that the only thing left is a wire connection somewhere. you could always bypass the ignition switch and make it a push button start.

Buy a test light and a jumper wire. See if the purple wire from the switch is getting power. Then see if it's getting to the solenoid.

A test light is an indispensable tool for 12vdc diagnostics.

Man, spell check is COOL! Had it spelled indespensable.

Ahh, 5 speed. Methinks the problem will be in the clutch safety switch.

well i bought a test light and was able to track down the problem. when i had my alarm isntalled at best buy 2 years ago, they installed a switch in the wire that runs from the ignition switch and the clutch safety switch, i guess it is supposed to not let the truck start while the alarm is on. it had power in but no power out. i bypassed the switch and it started right up. i'm glad it was something simple and i am only out 8 bucks for a ignition switch i didnt need lol. guess its time for a new alarm that doesnt suck...

thanks for the suggestions
