ok im try to explain in the simplest way possible. the other nite my driverside high beam went out but the low beam worked. this didnt make since because why would the low beam work but not the high? so i went and bought a new bulb and it didnt solve the problem either so i tried another. didnt work either. drove home and started thinkin and the only thing that i could think is that there is a short in a wire somewhere. ive tested at the switch at the light itself and all of that checks out but i still cant figure out where the problem is happening at. but when i jiggle the switch the lights start to jump from high to low. another thing is that the lights in my gauges dont work anymore. which is makin it real deficult to drive at night. if anyone has any insight into whats goin on let me know soon.

gm uses relays on the ground wires to switch on/off the high /low beams .
i'd bet you problem is in the relay itsself . just gotta find the relay and replace it .
