well my brother has a 94 ford lightning, we installed an electrict fan and a pullie kit it made him run a better 1/4 mile "more than i thought it would run", what i was wondering was is it worth doing it to my 4.3 v-tec ss im trying look for some cheep power "also my N20 kit will be here friday" so leave coments if u think its worth it or not

i put in an electric fan in my 4.3 it was alright i didnt notice much gain(never took it to the track) personally i think the egr mod did alot more for me. if you can get an electric fan cheap than go for it but i paid $250 was not worth it. i've heard good things about the pullies (and bad things) but the pullies are cheaper so i'd go that way first.

pullies and e-fan combined will take off 1-2 tenths in the 1/4 for 4.3l trucks.

for the prices, id do a few other mods 1st. i'd do the egr mod, intake, exhaust, tps mod and then start playing with other things. yes, the e-fan is nice, but who knows. yeah, get some pulleys too!

Just a correction. Chevrolet has never made a v-tec, thats Honduh, but they did make a Vortec. Do you have the G80 locking differential? If not, adding power adders will make the ol one tire of fire even worse. If you don't have a locking or Posi diff, then all of that power will never make it to the ground effeciently. You can do a set of headers for under $500 either JBA or Gibson and I think the Edelbrock TES headers might work.

Since you are a newbie we won't horse whip you like we do other rookies using ricers slang lol.Anyway if I was you I would not in anyway spend that 500 bucks on any mods at all.I would put it in to a savings account and save up the rest for a supercharger. The Wynjammer is a solid piece of equipment at a good price but there are others too.It will make more power per dollar amount than any of the other mods.Well except the nitrous. And you will have a foundation to build on to make LARGE amounts of power. And using the nitrous on top of that you will be ripping up some very quick 1/4 times. You won't be disappointed and even with all of the usually bolt on mods you won't get the amount of power that the charger can put out.Plus your power can be increased with the simple switch of a pulley.

Here's a link. http://www.wynjammer.com/ALM1115/Back_to_the_Future.html
I believe that this is the only S/C available for the TBI, but also note that it is "only" 4 psi. Very reasonably priced too.

Oops sorry didn't notice your year.Yours is a CPI and as of yet no one makes a supercharger for it.You might call Wynjammers and see if he is up to making a custom kit for yours. It in theory it wouldn't be very hard to do with the right work and tune.
