IMPORTANT>>>>>>> My headers have been on for about 2 or 3 months now and yesterday on my way to work smoke started pouring out of my hood. I pulled over and checked it out and couldn't find anything smoking. I got back in it and started it up and no smoke. So I went to leave the side of the road and smoke again. Noticed that it only did it when I hit the brakes. One of the brake lines (the one that feeds the rear) was rubbing on the header tube that the steering shaft goes thru. I thought I pulled it far enough away from the header tube when I did the install but I guess not. I had to replace that section of brake line tube. What a pain in the ass. Check this if you have headers and remember this if you plan on putting them in.

JBAs are notorious for that. . . Spark plug boots, too.

My JBAs melted 2 sparkplug wires and boots. #3 and #5

Speaking of sparkplugs and #3 tube, anyone find a plug wrench that will work? As the #3 tube on JBA's prevents the socket from fitting now, I don't look forward to pulling and changing that particular plug.

I haven't heard of any of these problems with the Gibsons -- but I've never owned a set so I'm going by hearsay. I do, however, have a set of the Edelbrock TES and have had no problems with them of any sort aside from an occasional scrape every now and then (high speed + bumps or dips in the road = nasty sound).

i just break the old spark plug (the white part) so i can put a regular socket on it. then install the new one and use a short wrench to tighten it up.

Thanks, nomaboy. May have to resort to that if my modified (read butchered) 5/8" socket cutaway-wrench fails.
