Guess I might as well start one I have enough projects scattered all over.

While I'm waiting on parts to start my SFA I been playing with cardboard. Anybody wanna guess what this is the start of?

Photobucket is acting up so bare with me, I'm trying to use image shack and I really don't care for it

The ends for something like this. How long do you think I can rock the cardboard before I have to cut it out of steel?

Yeah but first I gotta get some fenders on the truck that lines up and aint crushed to ****. Damn weather aint helping me do the body work, either too damn cold or raining and I don't like to try to spray paint when the humidity is high.

Lil bit more done to the new bumper, using my white truck kinda as a mock up since the fenders are straight on it. Put it on the rice burner to get an idea of the size this time.

Don't expect much progress as I'm sick as a dog right now and can barely get out of bed. I have started to take it apart and transfer all patterns to paper with measurements.

The mock up. Its no wider than the bumper on the blazer now just the front fenders aint all beat to hell on this one. Told yall it will line up better.

http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l217/neo71665/bumpers007.jpg

Remember the front edge of the fenders I'm putting on the blazer have been sectioned (raised) 2 inches so they won't hang down past the bumper like these factory fenders

and for John my dog and cat. Gotta get a few pics of his 5 daughters that are just now walking but he always like the pesky dog and cat pics cause it seems like I can't take a pic without one of them in it.

Just leave it cardboard :)

neo71665

Lmao, and after you have seen how the front fenders have been beat and bent with the factory tin bumpers? I think I'll go 3/16th steel.

Now I gotta put the bumper back on my 91

If I woulda went ahead and installed the grille guard hoops on the old bumper instead of worrying about doing it to the new bumper I don't think the deer would have done all this.

Lil more mock up, got the other side cut out and figured out where my flaws were on my light holes are gonna be.

I think I'm gonna leave the grille light as an reflector and move the light to a 2 inch LED light on the side of the bumper. Also remember the new fenders I'm working on have been sectioned so the lower front edge is raised 2 inches and will be real close to the lower edge of the this bumper.

The hole is for a driving light if I put one in, The oval is the blinker but they both have to be moved outward cause my measurements were off 1 inch and the frame rails are in the way.

Just some shots for idea of approach angles and how much its gonna stick out.

Yeah I really liked the green. I don't want the wanna be army truck look or I'd paint the whole truck with it. Might try a bit deeper color for the middle and leave it be.

Well the tan color is gonna change, going a bit more brown but still with the satin sheen. When its dry I'll get some pics. I think it really looks better.

oh and for the doubters I am not gonna go with the camo right now. I might later on when I have the time to draw out and cut out the stencils but right now I just want it fixed. I'm ready to get started on a solid front axle and get this 4x4 off the ground another 3-4 inches.

Yep I cant wait to see this. . . I need to go and get a camera and some pics of my blaze getting its sas and I need to finish the sas as well havent worked on it for awhile. . . On that same note if you got the time make another one of them bumpers on the white one i'd definitely rock that!!

neo71665

The bumper mocked up on the white one is going on the green one. The white one had a primered bumper on it when I got it so while I was painting it I used its un beat up and dented sheet metal to mock up the one for my 4x4. The white one has a white factory bumper on it now.

When I get done with the templates for a short time I will draw them out on some paper that can be easily mailed and send them to whomever wants them. Just give me a bit cause finishing the bumper isn't high on my list right now and I have other projects that I need to get done first not truck related. The only problem is my mounting will be different than most due to me having a 3 inch BL. I'm gonna weld receiver tubes on the top of my frame rails and use those to mount the bumper with, after drilling more holes in them of course.

I would put it on a program so all could have it on here but I tried for about 3 hours one night and well thats well above my skills and patience. If somebody else wants to take the time I have no problem with them doing it after I send them the templates.
