they also are supposed to keep excess water from coming up off your tiers and getting on the electrical system. On carbed engines it helps keep the air draft from sucking the air out of your carb.

They're made of a type of rubber. If your concerned about how they look you use a water /baby oil solution and spry them after you wash your truck. It'll help keep them looking new. I also use the solution on my under carriage to keep dirt and road grime from sticking.

do you have any other kind of drop on your zq8 suspension fire? did you ever have problems with them rubbing on your LCA's?

hell mine have been gone since the 2nd week I owned my truck. Other than a little extra dust in the engine bay I havent noticed anything. Pull em if you want to, dont if you dont.

i think the dust shields would rub the upper c arms before they rub the lower. besides, they're rubber, they will wear out befor the arms do...

There is noway the the rubber'ish dust "flapps" can rub on the lower control arms, it can rub on the upper though. But it's suppost to. Are you talking about the alum dust shield on the back of the brake?
