Let me start out by saying that this is simply the precursor to my 5" trailmaster lift. (But doing the 5.7 vortec 1st) Secondly, YES, I know I need slightly bigger tires (currently running 31's), 3rd yes, I know I need to crank the torsion bars up a little bit...Pfpfpfpfpf :uzi:

Project was started at 12:00 and ended at around 6:30, took several breaks, including a 20 min one when I crushed my thumb... (ouch)And I did it ALONE! (I did it at grapplers house but he was off playing with his GF)

PA 2" Bodylift and Energy Suspension poly bushings

On to the pics!

Bushings:

Here is my blazer prior to yesterday (5/1/05)

Started with removing the grille, bumpers, and skid plate...

Note: The reason all wheels were remove and the frame was set on jack stands is that with wheels left on, the suspension forces the frame up when the weight of the body is removed... I don't have jacks that high!

Bushings: Side and rear...

Note: My old bushings were rotted to hell. I wish I had taken a picture... A couple of them were completely collapsed.

And of course the final outcome...

Overall it was a pretty easy project. I didn't have to use the gas filler extension, and I didn't need the included 98+ rear bumper mounts.... As you can see in the bushing pics I greased them liberally with black lithium grease to prevent squeaking during break in.... After impacting the new body bolts down (used locktite) I went around and re-cranked them with a breaker bar... I don't think they're coming out. Since I live in Pittsburgh, the body got a lot of workout on pot holes on the way home..and for work today... No squeaks or knocks or looseness on the body. Also very little body roll. So overall I'm pretty happy.
