its not rediculous. its awsome you should convert to coil overs in the back that would be sic. plus if you ever needed to raise it up (cant belive i just said that) you would be able to in a couple of mins. or just put air shocks in the back if you dont have them already.

still one of the nicest first gens i've ever seen. good work

I'm thinkin about it... Coil over setup in front (lookin at Spohn) and then a triangulated four link out back with some QA1 coil overs in back (Air Ride Tech) I'll be doin it for wicked hook up and handiling.

Blazen...how do you adjust your air shocks? do you have an on-board compressor?
how much do they squish down? and how much do they expand? If i can rig something up with air shocks and pulling out one of my leafs, i could probly get pretty low. maybe low enough to drag a trailer hitch ball, with a notch of course.

no air shocks just fill up with a regular compressor. they have a valve stem hooked to a line that goes to the shocks. same valve stem as your tires have. they take the place of your regular shocks and basically have an air bag attatched to them. its not something you can use to hold up the truck. but they are basically just helpers to the springs. there made to hold extra weight but alot of people around here use them to help hold the rear of the truck alittle higher when driving and at shows just let the air out and when show is over just go to a gas station near buy and fill them bak up.

I know a guy who is using coil overs in his Blazer. He used to have a 5 inch drop and changed to the coil over setup. I'll have to ask him how it sits compared to the 5 inch drop.

As for air shocks with the schrader (tire) valve, they can be modified to fill from an onboard compressor. I had airshocks on the rear of my truck for awhile and used the onboard air system I had. This is an old vid of them in action at about 150 psi. No notch or anything. Actually if I remember right it was a static 5" drop with the shocks added.
