So on my way to get food this mornin my buddy with a 305 firebird (chip, intake, headers, plugs, wires) wanted to race me (or well, i wanted to race him). we take off, fairly even i start to pull on him in 2nd and he was around my door...moral...



my blazer > firebird 305

Yeah those 305s are weak. With a few mods we'll closer to the TPI 350.

With a few mods we'll closer to the TPI 350.It will take more than a few mods to be close to a L98 TPI 350.The first ones only had 220hp but had 320tq.The later ones had 245hp and 345tq and I think that is under rated because I have owned more than a few.But when it comes to the 305 in my opinion it is the worst engine ever built by GM.A small bore and long stroke piece of crap.Even a built 305 isn't worth the parts put in to them if you ask me.The 4.3 is a way better engine and it is short by 2 cylinders.But anyway that is a nice kill bro.

I dont know, the old turbo firebirds were pretty bad too. Opinions anyone?

That was a Pontiac 301 turbo. Crank the boost up and they'd fly. For a little while ;).

The 89 TTA Firebird was one of the fastest F-bodies ever produced up until the LS1 F-bodies came out.A Buick GN drivetrain in a Firebird made for one hell of a fast car.I would love to have one but they are harder to find than a GNX or a SY/Ty truck.Oops starting to whore this thread too lol.

Why and the hell GM doesn't leave something alone when it works and works very well I will never know.Case in point look at the past 20 years with the Buick T-Type/GN/GNX,the Syclone/Typhoon's,full size Impala SS,the F-bodies,S10 just to name a few.Ya know as long as they are selling at least make them in a limited production.The F-bodies were selling better than they had in over 20 years and the S10 was one of the best selling trucks on the market.DAMN YOU GM!!!
