oil press gauge

it is way awkward lately. I checked my oil not too long ago(about a week and a half or so...) and it was full and looked alright.. My question is what would gauge my pressure gauge to all of a sudden drop to 0 when i am at idle... and show 30psi when i drive? BUT the thing is... i will drive it... it will be fine... then i park it for 10minutes or longer... get in it and all of a sudden it starts up. then if i park it again... 10 minutes or more... and then go somewhere again... it works normal.... idles at about 20 and runs at 50 or so.... i checked everything and cant figure it out. help please

Almost gotta be the sending unit. In the absence of a manual gauge to verify actual pressure I'd stick a sending unit in it. A/C Delco of course ;).

"edit" Remote chance of an instrument panel pc board problem. Never seen it affect just the oil pressure, but hey, I ain't seen everything :).
