I've done over 40 LSx swaps in various chassis. I know what it takes to get it running and wired correctly so that it's right.
Long story short, I charge more than $1600 just to bolt it in and crank it up. If you want the wiring done RIGHT, AC, PS, stock gauges working, efans, etc expect to pay triple that, and you supply the parts. Eye candy below

What you're talking about and showing in your pics is totally different than what this guy is offering. What you need to keep in mind with this guys listing is that he specified swaps in 99-up Silverado trucks. He's doesn't need to build/buy a custom harness to do that.
We sell LS 5.3 engines where I work for $400-$800. We sell the stock wiring harness for another $150. If a customer wanted the "incidental" swap parts like radiator hoses, heater hoses and engine mounted accessories we would include them for another $100-$150 ...and believe it or not the y-pipes are interchangeable V6 to V8! So even if he were buying the components from a shop like ours he could buy it all for under $1000. All he would really need to do is reprogram the ECM. If he can't do it himself he could send it out and get it done for $100. He may not get rich doing these swaps, but he's not losing money doing it as a gimmick to get people in the door ...and he should be able to upsell most customers beyond his base swap package!
Doing swaps like Eat-Pez is doing is much more involved and much more expensive just as he says.
I am just finishing up a 6.0 LS swap into my wrecker and it cost me just over $1200 to have Current Performance build me a plug & play harness and re-program the ECM. When I got it back it literally plugged back into the firewall and onto the engine and everything in the truck looked and worked like factory. Obviously if you're building (or buying) harnesses like this you can't do a complete swap for a customer for $1600 and survive!

I found another ad they re-posted. The town its in is the local dragstrip town/jy town. He shows some pics of lsx in other vehicles, some older ones maybe even an s10 if Im not mistaken. Im sure I wouldnt pay triple 1600 for labor on a lsx swap. Looks like nice work above but not anything I couldnt do with the limited skills I have if i decided to go that route. It is extremely resonable for a lsx swap even if it was into a already lsx based vehicle.
