IS it possible for you to give me an estimate on what my system puts out?
Im running 412rms @2olms, 2 12" sony xplodes, 2cu^ sealed box.
I dont know how loud it is...but on a good song, it can make the windshield wipers smack the windsheild, and it hurts my chest

estimates??

mid to high 130's on the term-lab meter .

120s to 130s would be my guess.

There is a way to calculate it based on the sensitivity (dB/W/m) -- but that is purely theoretical.

THEORETICALLY, you can calculate it. Going by the formula and the specs, the sub will produce 89 dB at 1 W. Every time you double the wattage, add 3 dB. So, 2W = 92 dB, 4W = 95 dB, 8W = 98 dB, 16W = 101 dB, 32W = 104 dB, 64W = 107 dB, 128W = 110 dB, 256W = 113 dB, 512W = 116 dB, and so on. Add approximately 3 dB for each additional driver. So, going by that, you would have approximately 119 dB.

BUT, this does NOT take into account amp transience/response, enclosure efficiency, acoustics, enclosure design, etc. It's just a rule of thumb, and nothing more -- only a meter can give you an accurate estimate. So, xtc's estimate of mid-to-high 130s is plausible.

What's the stock SPL?

What's the stock SPL?
Considering that stock systems rarely put out more than 4 Watts per channel, at full volume (and distorted as can be) the stock system might hit around 75-80 dB. . . But that's just a guess.

ok how about... 2 12" JVC comp's 600W and 6ohm a piece. Sealed enclosure with a 1000W Kicker amp.. and a 54x4 explode deck.

again mid to high 130's on the TL meter .

and a stock system can reach 110 depending on age and abuse .

110 dB out of a stock system is reserved only for the "higher end" stock systems. The ones typical in GM trucks are lucky if they manage 100 dB. A dump truck, or similar heavy truck, driving by is about 90 dB. 110 dB is comparable to a vehicle horn honking (with your head close to the grille). If you have your window down and a stock system cranked, the horn of a vehicle right next to you is louder (of course, that also gets into the tone and projection of the horn as well, but you get the point).

Stock sucks, in most cases, though.
