This box was orig out of a Monte SS that had 66k on it and was leaking a bit and still had the factory stamp with the correct code indicating it was the “high-feel” ratio box & hadn’t been a replacement. This bolts into our frame and the only difference is the pitman arm. It's a great upgrade for our 4x4 vehicles. The Monte SS box doesn't have the steering "blocks" inside of it like the Extreme boxes do that diminish your turning radius. I sent it out to Lee power steering in California for him to blueprint it and do his upgrades (still keeping the same steering ratio) and bench test it for proper functionality with GM power steering fluid (which is still inside the steering box). He verified it was the correct ratio of 12.7:1 and that it had no steering blocks inside. He did the box in Feb. of 2008 as his mark on the steering box shows in the pic. Its been kept in a climate controlled room since I received it and looks like new! No stripped threads or messed up splines. If you don't have the pump with the correct flow to match this you can send your old one (or a spare) out to him and he'll rebuild it and calibrate it to work properly with the box.

I am a picky person about car stuff. I would have no problem putting this on a show vehicle. The steering box has the correct sheen of black for under the hood. I would prefer this to be picked up locally due to its heavy weight. More pics are available upon request. I’m asking $400 OBO.

The reason I’m getting rid of this is I got Lyme disease bad so I need to sell all the car stuff. I am willing to ship these if necessary and accept Paypal (but you have to pay the receiving funds fees). I may be contacted at 717-873-2506 between the hours of 10am-8pm and welcome questions. No texts please. I will not ship this overseas.

Wow, that isn't too far from here since I'm out on the east end of Millersville. I'm orig. from down in New Park, PA

cool...my wife grew up in Craley in York Co. but moved to N. George St. in Millersville. I'm technically from Willow Street but we both went to Penn Manor.

still have most of our family around there.

Hammer Head, I'm sorry but I don't have any other spares left. I had only ever gotten 2 of these Monte SS boxes. The one spare I got Lee manufacturing to redo and the other is sitting in my 80 SS El Camino that I will unfortunately be trying to sell after Christmas. I've driven a Monte SS that had a lee blueprinted steering box done (I drove it before and after) and what a difference! His upgrades are more than worth their price. Plus most of these boxes have untold layers of gunk all over them. If you don't mine feeling wear & tear inside a Monte SS box with high miles and just want a used one to slap some new seals on I suggest checking out the Monte Carlo SS forum. I don't mean to offend here. I know I'm pickier than most about the mechanicals of the stuff I have.

I don't mean to offend either. I'm interested in one of these boxes but I can do all the work, cleaning & painting.

I'm willing to accept multiple USPS money orders (I won't accept any other issuer of money orders!) since I don't think they will let you make a single one out for that much.
My conditions with money orders are that you have a week from when you say you are sending them for them to arrive (sending them priority with tracking is recommended). I am not liable for money orders lost in the mail. And your item will not be shipped until the postal money orders totally clear with my bank after I deposit them. This will help save you about $10+ in paypal fees.

I'm willing to trade for some 4 new (or like new) Michelin Harmony 215/65R15 tires for the box as well.
