Speaker Oppinions

ok, im looking to replace the speakers in the blazer. Im up for all suggestions and comments on speakers. not looking for something that is top of the market, just higher end.

Polk, jl ,pioneer.......etc......

It's kinda like picking a muffler you to do the listen test. go to your local sub shops and listen to the display speakers or hit the sound shows and listen to the competitor setups. Also sites like 12volt (http://www.the12volt.com/) have allot of reviews

Subs- Rockford no question.
Just dont go with rockford componets, I paid $90 for my 4x6s and blew the hell out of them in a few days, w/ my 52x4 deck!
I would say Infinitys for componets.

and import, i wouldnt buy RF components, i think they sound horrible.

Your own ear is your best advice. Take the effort to find a smaller audioshop (aka not Best Buy) and you will usually be pleasantly suprised by the difference between it and a best buy clone.

speakers will sound totally different in a store than in your truck.

but pretty much any decent speaker will work ok. your never gonna get a **** load of bass out of any speaker but once you add your subs (wait you put them in already right) they will sound better. i hate the way my speakers sound if i turn off the subs but when there on the whole thing sounds great.

I have always liked JL audio componets and Infinity. They sound the best to me. good luck.

I just recently replaced all 6 speakers in my blazer with polk audio "db" series. They aren't the top of the line polks and they didn't cost an arm and a leg. I also got a kenwood deck. I don't have them hooked up to any amps just the stereo and they sound great. I got all 6 at circuit city for about $400 with a 4 yr protection plan. I also checked around first and would have paid the same on the internet w/out shipping and they didn't have a protection plan. I want that protection plan so if any thing happens to them I just take them back to circuit city and get new ones, no questions asked. My friends here my stereo and can't believe I don't have them hooked up to any amps. I also put my 10" orion cobalt sub back in and everything sounds great. Sounds like a concert in my truck.

The infinitys would have cost about $120 more and both sound just as good as the other.

And if you look at the specs on the box, thats MAX. Your Headunit only plays at about 22-26 RMS. Did something else wrong there chief.

JL, Polk, Infinity, JBL, Pioneer, Kicker, Boston Acoustics, Memphis, etc. It all depends on what YOU think sounds good. I like Kickers, but my next system will be either Infinity Kappas or Memphis M-Class.

IMO the kappas sound like AZZ compared to the memphis PR components . those are only about 100 - 140 depending on where you buy .

i am partial to alpine or infinity. those are the only two that i have heard that don't distort when you put a little bass to them
