I am in the process of buying an ext cab s10 that has been heavily customized. It has a full belltech 5 7 drop originally the person ran 16s with a decent tire on it. Im wondering if anyone know max rim and/or tire sizes that can be ran without mods. I previously owned a 94 s10 that had close to the same drop and I ran 17s and tried to run a 235/45/r17 I believe and had rubbing issues the biggest I could run if I remember right was a 235/35/17 with no issues but I owned that truck over 11 years ago so I'm not 100% on the sizes. My old truck had eagle alloy 203 rims staggered offsets which I wold love to find another set for the future s10 (a little nostalgia). But just wondering what sizes may fit. I have a set of 20s that I have ran on previous cars that will bolt on but even with 245/35/r20s I am sure are way to large

What exactly is the question? What wheel sizes fit? If that's the question, it has to do w/ backspacing & offset. I fit C4 vette wheels on my truck. 17x11. 315/35-17. The needed a 2" spacer. Minus that, the tire & wheel size fit.

whats the max wheel/tire height more than anything will fit. I know out rear my 20s might fit, but my question is up front. Not looking to mod the fender wheels nor remove them and allow for pretty much full suspension movement. I don't believe in having a high dollar suspension to baby it, it was made to perform and that's exactly what I'm going to do to it. I don't know the offset of my old rims but I looked them up and they came in -11, 0, and +14 in the 17/8 which is what I ran up front

-11/+14 what? MM? That's just about as good as a zero offset wheel. Roughly -7/16 or +9/16.

Anyways, I'm running a 215/65-15 snow tire right now. I have 'bumblebee' whos ZQ8 springs drop it 2" & it's leaving me about 4" until I bottom out in front. It a 26" tall tire. If you want to run the 20s w/ what numbers I've put out there.. you'd need to find a tire w/ a 3" sidewall.. like a 215/35-20. It's a 25.9" tall tire & matches the 15s I've got now.
IDK if you know any old hot rodders tricks or not but, if they're a little too wide, take a wooden baseball & put it on the tire & roll the truck back & forth to clearance the wheel (it rolls the lip of the fender/wheel well).

..& just to let you know, these wheels were on my blazer that I drove in the snow w/ a V8. Not that that matters.. but the blazer had a 5/3 drop that was more like a 5/4. So, it's still the same '5' in front that you're concerned about.

My bad forgot about the mm on the offset but yeah that's what the offsets are in mm. My tires never rubbed on the outside of the fenders but more so on the inside of the fender wheels and mainly turning and bumps with the bigger tire. The truck right now sits on 14s with I believe a 215/60or65/r14 and with no motor or trans and flat tires the engine cradle sits on the ground. I'm not really thinking an 18 is going to be to possible without giving something up which as I said before Im not willing to do. I want atleast a decent sidewall personally my 245-35-20s have about the perfect amount of sidewall. And thank you for the measurement it gives me something to go off of, what width rim is that on, the eagle alloys are 17x8 if I hadn't mentioned and most likely will run an 8" wide rim up front or at the least a 7 1/2"

80s Camaro rims. I think they've got about 5.5-6" backspacing. I want to say they're a 7" wide rim. So.. that'd be a 1-1.5" offset. Sounds to me that you have too much offset & that's why the wheels are rubbin on the inside.
BTW, the 245/35-20 you say has the best sidewall height.. it's only about 3/8" taller (3.40" sidewall). the 215/35-20 is a 3" sidewall. The 245/35-20 is going to be a taller tire, too, at about 26-7/8". That's an 1-1/16" difference.. could make or break your 'not modifying' contingent.

The old rims came close to the fenders with either tire but just far enough away to not rub. I didn't mean I want to run the 245-35-20s just the ammount of sidewall they have is about perfect. I don't really want to run less sidewall then what they carry in other sizes. Being anything smaller is to rubberbandish. Not that I want to run the 20s likely 17s but want that amount of sidewall at the least with the 17s or whatever size, I know with 16s I can run a taller sidewall just not sure with 17s or 18s (that I can run the same sidewall height). I ave ran smaller sidewalls in the past and they cause to many issues like being to stiff to enjoy the ride, even a little roll and you can end up rim riding, also in hard cornering the tires have no give and it's easier to slide the tires
