You can pull the fuse from the underhood box (the # should be indicated on the cover). You'll get an idiot light on the dash but your brakes will work perfectly. I've done it multiple times for racing and it works fine.

i think (Im unsure though) that once you get that idiot light for abs it will stay on till you clear the code even once you fix the issue. i know its like that on some cars, i like my ABS so i haven't played with it at all.

Well awesome then, ill try taking olut the fuse when I get out of work... I hate abs, I usually look for cars without it so I can stop sliding through intersections... it gets anoying after the first time lol

so i just looked under my hood, and i didnt see any fuse box
its a 1995 gmc sonoma 4.3 tbi.
my pcm is inside the car if that means anything.
I have a 20a fuse on the drivers side of the dash that says brake, but im guessing thats not it

it might be that one. but you should check to makesure in a manual. the brake booster is hydrolic not electronic so i doubt that fuse has to do with the normal breaking.
-It might be your fuse for the break lights LOL, but i don't think that would be 20amps

Unplugging it doesn't turn any lights on and yes you will still have brakes

To get rid of abs.... sit on your butt drink a liter of cola a day, 1 12 pack of budlight and stuff your face with cheesy puffs
The module for the fuses, (ie fuse box) is under the hood on the drivers side its a black box with a screw cap in the center it will have relays and fuses in it.

Brake boosters on the S-trucks are Vacuum operated. Unless someone was smart enough to figure out how to put a hydro-boost in they're not hydraulic.
To go all the way back to the top somewhere.. do you really think GM (or any other manufacturer) would make a vehicle to default to NO BRAKES if it lost ABS? ...Really? ...Just the opposite, it defaults to 'YOU HAVE BRAKES. JUST NO ABS'.
..You guys also need to learn the differance between brakes & breaks; their, they're & there; your & you're. 'A LOT' is TWO words. I won't get into all the other stuff.. let's just try this for now & see if it can be grasped. America guys, be proud & learn English. Especially if you want everyone else to speak it.

Maybe a little.. & I speak a little spanish, too. Seeing as there's a minor take-over here. Sorry, but I see the people in MY country care less & less every day about 'little' things that actually lead to gigantic things..

lol at the language thing. that's one of my pet peeves too. anyway, the 95 doesn't have the fuse box out under the hood like the newer ones.

Yeah, I ended up just unplugging it.
But since then, Ive fixed a few other problems as well, so the abs would probably work if i plugged it back it, but i dont like abs anyway
