Need Power

Hey guy’s what’s up i have a 99 s10 blazer, 4.3, 2wd. I want more power on my truck that I can feel. I want to know what I can do without adding a supercharger or nitrous. I want N.A power. I recently bought a k&n intake and Gibson headers. (are Gibson good) Before I install them I want to know what wires, plugs, any little thing that will help improve my performance. I have a 40 series flowmaster with 2.5 tubbing the only problem is at high speeds it lacks power. Am thinking the headers and the k&n will help it out in a way. I also want to drop my truck but at the same time tighten the suspension. What is the best one you guys recommended that will handle like a sport car in a way. Any information on maybe what you guys have on your cars will help. Is there any way that I can make my truck go to 100mph without going back to 80mph Thanks a lot

for plugs, a lot of guys on here will reccomend the NGK plugs. The intake and headers will help as much as possible in the higher rpms. i reccomend either a 2/3 or a 3/4 drop for performans handling, not to mention re-doing all the bushings with the poly eurothane (sp) ones. well, all but the trans. mount, im told that one will vibrate to hell. i would look into some 2" drop spindles, 1" drop springs for the front and then a set of 3" drop leafs and 1" blocks for the back.

Eveything they side was right on! Also your want to get a Hypertech programmer for some better tuning, it will also up your speed limter so you can run 128mph(with right tires).

^^^spend the extra 30 bux and get the crane tuner. much better choice. (this is from my experience not just a guess)

What is the butterfly of your throttle body, EGR mod, MAF mod, TPS mod and is there a site what will show me how to do it. I was told to get taylor wires. What do you guys think? I want my truck droped but to handle well but without worring about it might scratch when i go over a bump or something like that. I want to know how much will it cost me or a package that sells it all but good known brand. I want wide tires but probably i will go with 17" or 18" inch rims any good looking rims that are deep dish. Will a cam increase my power and would it be okay to put it with a stock motor.

if you pull your air cleaner hat of the throttle body, open the butterfly valve and you will se the restrictor plate that is rivited to it. just take it off. the maf mod is where you take the screen off of the mass air flow sensor (located just behind the air cleaner). the tps mod is where you elongate the throttle position sensor mounting holes and that makes the sensor adjustable. the egr mod is where you put a restricter on the egr tube going to the intake. their is a how to chart somewhere on this site that will tell you how to do it.
As for wires the msd have about 50 ohms per foot. the taylor has about 300 ohms per foot. i have the msd wires which i would recomend but both are high quality so it is up to you
yes a cam would increase power and it is safe to do to a stock motor. make sure you get a roller cam made for a 92^ 4.3 with a balance shaft. you will also need valve springs/retainers/locks, timing chain, gaskets, lifters. well worth the money though.
also on the lowering a 3-4 drop would give you a nice stance and performance. i would get 2 inch spindles, 1 inch springs for the front and 4 inch leaf springs for the back. also get poly sway bar bushings and end links. as for tires 245-50-16 are pretty wide but if you want a taller rim i would get 245-45-17 or somthin like that. definatly nothing smaller than a 245.
