They use C5 Pads and Rotors!!!! :D

Costs a little high but I think this is the best brake upgrade for our trucks!

What about the F-body stuff?.....I'd just like to have some better calipers. Would the Sy/Ty mod work on a 98+?

The LS1 calipers I don't think are much better than the Blazer calipers they look pretty similar dual piston and all except they are aluminum. The trick to me is to get a bigger rotor and then I'd be fine, kinda like the Baer Eradispeed Plus but they don't make it so I'll go with the SSBC kit.

I'll settle for the dp calipers and knock off rotors. Can I use my stock spindles on my 2000 or do I need the blazer spindles?

zr1 your truck is freakin awesome...what size rotors you got under those 17"s...

Stevo you need the blazer spindles they have a hub type set up.

Yeah but any guesses as to whether the spindle (or axle) underneath that hub is the same? It'd have to be pulled of and measured to know.....but..... :)

No the spindle is the same as far as steering/suspension geometry but it has a hub type set up similar to the fullsize silverados and tahoes where the S10 has a bearing set up on a "pin" or whatever you call it. But it can be easily converted to the blazer set up I believe that is what ZR1 s10 did. Side not the hubs are exspensive as hell.

My brothers I think I may have found an economical option for us versus the SSBC kit that uses ALL STOCK C5 stuff and the parts to make them work will be around $200 give me a week or so and I should have parts go to www.s-seriesforum.com and look under the brake section at the top sticky. I should be getting the first set up and may be able to get a kit to adapt the C5 brakes to the rear. I'll keep you guys informed.

Alright I have read about all of the info here and over at s-series. Which is a lot of good info. But I have a question can I upgrade to the blazer brakes on my 91 (that I know works) but I'm building that truck to kinda be prostreet so I will have 15X6s Draglight XPs in the front. I know they say with the C5 conversion I need to have a 16. But I figured that since I'm going with a V8 in this truck too that it would be nice to upgrade the brakes too...

you prolly want the LS1 set up it's 12" instead of just under 13" Ed has that too I think.

So the LS1 brakes are a 12 rotor? But I will still need to do the spindle swap right?

firefighter

Uhm I think so either that or he has a hub for it not sure.

I'm tryin to research this more cuz I don't want to buy all this stuff and it not work with my wheels...

I got the brackets the other day with all the hardware and brackets for just under $250 I think it's a deal. I gotta get the calipers and the rest. I'm also gonna do the LS1 rear swap. If you figure out what I'm gonna have when I'm done.... 12.8" X 1.25 with the better PBR Vette 2 piston caliper and a 12" X 1" PBR single piston caliper out back all with Power Slot rotors and Hawk pads for under $1300. Check out the Baer web site and then do some pricing I'll have a GT kit out front and a Track kit out back that'll price out for about $3500 +. I think I'm doing pretty good. I'll have some pics prolly next month/year after I paint it all and put it together.

I have the LS1 conversion on my truck, and I'm 99% certain it will not fit under 15" rims. The guy that sells the conversion kit (CBRperformance.com) for 4X4/AWD has a FAQ page that says it requires 16" or larger. Sorry, FastSdime.
