our engines don't have studs. in99' they put roller truniuns in and they use bolts that get torqued down to a specific amount. their not adjustable. to make those work you need the conversion studs and taller valve covers (mine are for 88-93) they work perfectly but you have to cut the dividers out.. if you don't want to use studs slp make a 1.6 rocker set that are not adjustable and not roller tip for $400. but you wouldn't have to modify anything then.

yea the ones i got do. got mine off ebay for $25.00 new. their not much taller. just enough to clear the studs. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7977035113&category=33627&sspagename=WDVW. these are the exact ones i have only 20 bucks more.

you will need to devise a way to put your oil fill cap on.. i just used a piece of rubber tube and put it in the valve cover hole then i cut my old oil fill tube off of the old valve cover and clamped it onto the new rubber hose. you will need to make a gasket out of rtv or somthin and that is it. they fit perfect.

maybe 1/4 to 1/2 inch. i think the big difference is that the crome ones are more square. the stock ones are tapered and that cuts down on clearance.
