View Full Version : hot air when off
hello heres the deal this might be something people already know i hope. anyhow when everything on climate controls (fan 1, temp all the way in the blue, vent\ac contol knob off) hot air blows out of the foot vent. its like it doesnt block it off. basically it feels like engine heat but if i turn the knob to upper vents it blows cool outside air in. thanks
your outside vent flapper is staying open or your heater flapper is open. Let me look at mine to see what is envoled in the vent workings on these.

it's the fresh air vent, it's designed to let fresh air in whether the fan is on or off

there is a way to fix it in the 98+ models .
1 open glove box
2 drop down the glove box by pushing up on the retainer pin in the upper left hand corner of the glovebox
3 locate grey vaccume hose .
4 pull off vaccume hose from vaccume "bulb"
5 plug up grey vaccume hose and zip tie out of the way
6 close glovebox
uts part of the auto climate control system meant fot the bravada's . its default settin is hot .
nice im gonna try that thanks guys
it must have been changed sometime after 01 because mine dosn't do it.
I was floored when I saw vacume lines under my dash though. I thought GM would have gone to an electronic system by now.

air will still blow through but it wont be as hot, turn in on the cold setting and you will be fine.

My 01 s10 does the same thing, even with the controls set to cold
gonna try the zip tie thing.
