View Full Version : Well, this just sucks
Couldn't happen at a worst time either. My blazer is dead right now. It won't startup. It turns over, and everything sounds like it does when I turn the key before starting pos. But it will not start up. My dad was backing it up do get room in driveway, put it in park and it died. I think it was the computer. It was giving the ses light time after time and it was all computer related codes.
DUDE! My 99 sonoma did that to me today. My fuel guage **** is all messed up. When I get down to about a quarter tank the guage goes crazy so idk if that has anything to do with it or not like maybe the sending unit is messing with the fuel pump or something I honestly dont know. Its either that or I bottomed out really bad last night and Im hopin I didnt hit something vital on the underside and thats why its messed up. Then my waranty probably wont cover it.
check you ignition (pick up coil, coil, and ignition module).
you have a multimeter right?
First thing, pull the currently stored codes.

First thing, pull the currently stored codes. That's what I was gonna say.It logged a code for a reason so let's see what that reason was and go from there.
It starts up now. But I have had the codes checked to many times to not care anymore. Showed up once with o2 being lean, then rich even though I never turned it back on. Then there was ecm code, pcm or incorrect cylinderselect code, and coolant temp voltage low. I got a 89 Izuz pickup 5 speed manual with 4 banger. Its alright. 400 bucks. It will cover. That and I can put the 4 wheeler in the back.

Until you resolve the ECM problem you will never get it running right.
i used to have trouble on my ss with the ingnition coils comming loose and the truck would turn but not fire as you described...it sometimes even stalled the truck when i was driving if i hit a big bump or something
