went to the track last week.....first run was the best 17.73.....can my fuel pump starting to go bad make me run so slow? there was a guy with a 97 4 door 4x4 blazer running 16.8's with less done to his truck then me....guess i didn't think the pulsator going would be that big of a power drain....let me know what you think....

Well, give us more times, like reaction and 60'. The reaction time of you could of been worse and cause that much of a problem. When i was racing the 1/8th i had a 10.7 the first time. Then a 11.4, 11.7 and then 10.9 and got 10.6. Just being able to be consistant is the thing.

what was your 60' and mph? that will help give a little insight as to what is going on.

always around 75 mph......only one other 17.7 then the rest right about 18 flat....reaction times .5 or less...one was a .139 with a 11.589 1/8 and 60fts. all around 2.6 according to my slips

your 60' is slow which is probably most of the problem. If you got those down to about a 2.2 which should be feasible you will do a lot better. A tenth in the 60' ususally leads to 2 tenths in the 1/4. So you are looking at possible 17 flats. Still seems kinda slow so your fuel delivery probably has something to do with it. By the way, reaction time has nothing to do with any of this.

I'm thinking he has 3.08 (or worse, 2.73) gears.

Then your 60' seems way off. Not any experience with 4x4's on the track though.

im running my times on 3.08's. I would think that he should be able to get in the mid to high 16's at least. especially now that we know he has 3.42's. Are you running a stock size tire. cuz if your not they will kill you. I still say work on your 60 foots and watch your shift points. these motors dont like to rev so dont make it, especially since you have real no considerable mods. Probably dont need to go over 4800-4900 rpm

nah im 2wd the only other real difference im seeing between the 2 is my exhaust which I took into account. Even with the added weight and drag I still think he should hit mid 16's pretty easily.

my tire size is slightly smaller and wider then stock i have 235/70/15's instead of 235/75/15s.....thats what i hear mid to low 16's so i guess i will have to install the new fuel pump i have sitting on my floor and go from there...

if i were you i wouldn't hope for any better than a 16.3 but probably more like a 16.5-16.7 Just a guess though
