anyone know what happened to this site?
That was to the link to the article about welding
up the older intakes for the newer vortec heads.
Im just looking for the picture of that ty manifold
against the heads showing the space that has to
be welded.

Anyone have it?

Hmm thats not the pick I was looking for though.
I was looking for the one of the unmoded intake sitting on the heads.....
where you can see how the intake ports are taller on the heads...

arg whyd that website go down?

I've seen the spacers before, but I'm not real fond of that method. It's just more to,ess on you down the road.my advice is to take it to a machine shop that does heliarch. They'll make the spacers and weld them to the heads or the intake(your choise) then machine every thing for a perfect fit.

how new of heads i have put a 89 TBI intake on a 95 CPI engine and only had to modify the plug on the bottom of the manifold

Ask over at Sy-Ty.net, it was someone there who came up with the spacers instead of welding it!
