instructions link
go to mrgasket.com they should have a more specific instuction for a 2001. I haven't tryed to hook one up to my 03 yet , but It is all still basicaly the same as msd or any ingnition amp.
You'll like that box allot better than an msd box.

Why will he like it better than a MSD???
better buillt and more dependable. Won't fry aftermarket coils like msd either.
Sorry to go off topic, but I've leaned my lesson regarding MSD !
Never again...

i've fryed a few msd boxs. what's the point in haveing a spark control box that frys aftermarket coils or the slightest feedback will fry it. i gave up up on them and went with mallory.
well i got the mallory wired up so far so good

I had a MSD 6A that I got for 50 bucks and it was junk. It shut off so I sold it. Now I have a MSD Digital 6 Plus and I haven't had any problems with it so far. I bought this one brand new though for a pretty penny.

Most MSD (or any capacitive discharge igniton) are VERY susceptible to poor grounds and feed problems. The wiring has to be perfect. Most failures are of this nature.
Also, most CD ignitions will fry stock coils. That's why they recommend using a coil built for CD.
I've used Crane, Mallory and MSD. Liked 'em all actually but the Mallory gives you more bang for the buck. But,I use mostly MSD due to the drag racing. Lot's of plug-in modules.

Ive used both MSD and Mallory products and have had good and bad with both.I still like and would recommend both.
now that i have the mallory installed should i buy a different coil? and also should i change my sparkplug gap?
