Another damn ticking!

I thought I was through chasing ticks. Been through bad exhaust gaskets, egr gaskets, loose bellhousing bolts, etc etc. Anyhow, here's the rundown on the latest, looking for any suggestions.

I can hear a ticking noise coming from the right rear of the vehicle, only while moving. I can only hear it if I'm driving by something to reflect the sound back (wall, lots of parked cars, etc). The sound stops if I press the brakes. Any ideas? I've heard this for a few weeks but ignored it due to lack of time. It's gotten a bit louder today so I'm gonna pull the passenger side wheel and drum off to take a look. Gonna wait a bit, maybe the temp in the garage will drop from 102* after dark. Anyone have any thoughts I should keep an eye out fot?

Grooves in the backing plate contact point. A little brake grease in those 6 spots solves lots of drum brake noise complaints.

Finally took the right-rear drum apart today, and sure enough, there were six bright metal spots on the backing plate. I put a good coat of brake grease on those spots, put it all back together, and no more ticking! Thanks for the heads-up, Sparky.

I have ticking on my front passenger discs....it has turned into a "squeek....squeek....squeek" when I apply the brakes. The odd thing is, the squeek goes on and off, and the frequency gets lower the slower I am going.

I was thinking warped rotor and worn pad, but ****, I just replaced the front rotors and pads 30K ogo!

and I know this is whoring but...I am out of a job and I cant afford this **** anymore!

Probably didn't clamp the outer pad ears to the caliper.

Hmm, it seems my celebration was a bit too early. I had to run a few more errands tonight, and when I got back, so was the damn ticking sound. It's not as loud as it was before, though.
