very annoying when racing a ricer

for truck in sig. it runs fine up to 5000rpm. i have my shift points set for 5500 because of my cam. anything after 5000rpm it pops and won't accelerate. kinda like a missfire. i got everything in my ignition replaced except the coil. it first did it at IRP only it poped once at 5200 and then accelerated to 5500 and shifted to 3rd. ever since then it had done it worse and worse. could it be the coil?? their is abslolutly no sign of trouble under 5000RPM.

Sounds like a fouled plug to me.

Computer been adjusted for the 4.10 gears?

yep. also been reprogrammed for the cam. new plugs. not even 200 miles on them when it first did that.

Sounds kind of like my truck with the comp 260ahr. Mine is fast at about 3/4 throttle, but bareley accelerates at full throttle. I haven't gotten a wide band on it yet, nor do i have any tuning. I am planning on some large changes to my intake tract, so i figure i will mess with it then.

no not the rev limit because it dosn't do it all the time. my A/F guage reads last bar on ideal side (close to rich but not yet). not sure what the fuel pressure is. the first time it did it poped only once then proceded to rev up to 5500 then shift with no problems. ever since then it has gotten worse. it pulls really hard at full throttle with no other problems until it hits 5000rpm. i got the matched valve springs with my cam and they were meant for .429 inch lift. with my 1.6 rockers the lift is .459 about. could it be valve float? my G/F's uncle drags professionaly and i tried to give him a ride to get his opinion on the problem and it didn't mess up then...figures.

To weird? I've had zero problems with mine from 5000 to 5700?! I did have somthing similar tho, whenever I'd floor it, it would missfire or pop. Replaced the spark plugs and it was like a whole new truck!
