starting to build my new motor and looking for some grade "A" parts!!!does anyone have a part number for a rolling timing set? with the motor i have now i run through the stock chain about every month and half - two months.I found gear drives but i would rather not give up 10-15hp for those.

Non-balance shaft motor uses the same set as the smallblock chevy. Get one of those.

I'm using the Edelbrock kit with mine, from what I've seen Cloyes' kit is the same thing. Never had a problem with mine so far, no noise, no slack after 1.5yrs.

i'm running a 97 block

i haven't seen any for the balance shaft motors the top gear on the 92 + blocks are dished out due to the balanced shaft .

Just get a gm stocker. No real high hp gains thru the timing chain neways.

did you read my first post? i stretch them too much infact i had a stocker break 2 weeks ago and seeing how my old motor is childs play compared to the new one i may just end up with a belt or gear drives.

I payed around 600. I just got a regular sbc setup. I've never run into any problems with the belt. the main reason i got it is the jesel is completly ajustable so i can play with the valve timming without having to mess with the computor.

I'm seeing on their site that now they actually sell a direct bolt-on for the 90*v6. I also see they went way up on their prices.

9-3154 for the cloyes set. It is also adjustable 2* forward or back. I have 20K miles on mine, it seems to be doing fine. It is for the ballance shaft motors, and is a single chain.

forgot to mention the belt drive also got rid of the chatter noise from the chain in my 4.3.

as for adjustment the belt drives will adjust from less than a 1/2* to 3* and and love the fact you can run them without a full timing cover when you tunning it. The mod came out to around a 1/2 sec on a stock block and increased my milage 1-2mpg.

I don't remember if they took any of the build, but I'll ask our machinist. He may have clicked off a few for refernce .I don't have the 03 s-10 as off today so I can't just run out to the lot that i traded at and take some. I'm a ford man now.
Most of the fab work was done by my machinist.you'll need some machine work done on the cam and balance shaft. The bolt pattern on mine was the same as the timming cover off a sbc so i didn't have any problems there but the pan the cover seal was a little differnt so both the pan and the jesel had to be machined, but looking at their site it looks like they have a direct bolt up now. It's a couple hundred more than I payed for mine, but I payed more than that in machine work.
