View Full Version : Blazer is dead, help needed.
For awhile that is. It wont get any spark. Changed the coil, 15 bucks. That didnt work. Doubt its the distributor. I think it is the computer. The first time it happened was when my dad backed it up in the driveway and got ready to put it in park when it went dead. Wouldn't start up. Next morning, it started up and I went to work. It tooke a couple seconds longer but it started. Then it did it again back at home. But after a few tries it started. It was fine for the rest of the day. Then my mom took it and mentioned that for some reason when she put it in park it started to rev up a bit. So she put it in drive and back in park. It was fine. Now last tuesday it was fine when I went to my great grandmas funeral, which I really did not know her. It was fine. Come home, had to go into town, go out and flip key nothing. No spark. So I believe its something in the computer. Someone I know mentioned pcm reflashed.

Does your distributor have a single connector (3 or 4 wires) or 2 connectors (4 wire and 3 wire)?
Your sig lists a 94 Blazer. Doesn't say if TBI or CPI.
If it's a single connector, plastic base distributor, most likely cause is a crank sensor (located in timing cover, bottom). If it's a dual connector distributor, then you have a p/u coil and module inside the distributor and the problem most likely is there.

Most likely the crank sensor then. If the ck. engine lamp is lighting up and you can hear the fuel pump prime, have no spark, then most likely cause is the crank sensor.
Not the only possibility as nothing beats testing. But I'd give it a 4 in 5 chance of being the cause. Not too expensive and easy to replace also.
The fuel is priming and starter is going. Just no spark. So its most likely crank. If so how do I go about changing this. I might wait awhile to change it. It is freaking hot and muggy out and will be like that for awhile. Sucks at work also having to deal with the weather. I can't wait till winter. So I can screw around with the 4 wheeler and not really screw up the yard.

It's held in with one bolt in the bottom of the timing cover.
Sweet. I looked at advance. They have something for 380 bucks. But theres a replacement part for 30 some bucks at autozone. Don't know why advance doesn't have one. I will just try that and go from there.
Well both places don't have them and cant get them. So Im out of luck for awhile.
