I'm a full length header proponet. Yes, the shortys are a much easier install. I even put 'em on a 302 Mustang I had. Once. And installed a full length set later.

The shortys are worth about half as much as full length when it comes to power. Also extends your rpm band better than shortys by far. More difficult? Yes. Worth it? Yes again.

Sure can't argue that ! Equal length long tubes would even
be better, but not sure if there's enough room..

Does anyone have any actual performance increase figures for the JBA headers on a 2002 4.3L Blazer? The JBA website doesn't provide any. They are the only ones making headers for that vehicle so there aren't any options, which is probably why they want $500.00 for them. I know that shorty's don't create the performance increase of long tube so these things could end up being about $50.00 per horsepower! That's not a good horsepower to dollar ratio! Unfortunately shorty's don't give you that great header sound either so that's even less value for your money.

I have a Gtech and will be able to get some numbers for myself, but not until I've spent the money and the time and effort to install them. Input from someone who's been there already is appreciated.

Could always get the long tubes for an older model & then weld bungs in for the O2's.

Headers are on my to-do list too, I'm still researching it all before making a decision... I know there aren't any long tube's available for my application. Plus I'm not looking to re-work my factory Y-pipe because the Cats are built into it.... and that is a real expensive piece.
